Mom & Dad
Somewhere around 7th grade, the math stops working. Practice across town, two-a-days, homework past midnight, recovery that never actually happens. And the better your athlete gets, the worse the schedule gets — the demand cuts: sleep, family dinners, vacations, church, and friends outside the team.
You start to ask yourself: is this too much? Is it even worth it? You worry they'll burn out by junior year. But if you're like most parents, you would do anything to help them with their goals. So you keep trudging forward.
It's not your fault. The traditional schedule wasn't built for today's athlete. So we built a program that supports your athlete, and gives them back their time.
An All New Approach — Your Athlete Will Love!
First, learn how to use a hybrid schedule — take some classes on campus, and some online through your district. Don't worry, it's easy — we'll show you how.
Then train during the school day when the body and mind are fresh. Leave the evenings open for everything else. They'll have more time, and more rest than they know what to do with. You'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
“I can't believe we didn't do this sooner.”
— Academy Mom
How it started
In 7th grade, Kaylee was competing on a top-level travel team in both soccer and basketball. We watched her run out of hours — training, school, family, friends. There was no time for recovery, no time to be a kid, and she was going to have to choose between the two sports.
We had the idea to put her on a hybrid schedule. Let her sleep more, train in the mornings when she was fresh, see her friends at school in the afternoon, and have her evenings open to be a regular kid. It was a game changer.
She was able to compete at a high level in both sports, traveled with both club teams, earned first team all-state honors as a junior, earned a 4.0, earned college offers, and still had time to enjoy her family and friends.
After three years, and lots of requests, we launched the Academy.
Junior year, age 17
First Team All-State in both soccer and basketball.
Now
Has college offers to play at the next level.
Then we opened the Academy to a full cohort and ran the same model. Same results.
The academy model
Here's how the week actually works. Your athlete trains during the school day, then takes core classes on a hybrid schedule — some on campus, some online through your district.
Time to be a kid. Time to excel in multiple sports. Time to keep up academically. Time for church or youth groups, and time for family.
Once you come to the Academy, you'll wonder why you didn't start sooner.
